Holaaaa fellas!
Mabuuhayyyyyy!
Wish you always have a good day!
So, I had been passing observing the class and assisting my beloved cooperating teacher, Mrs. Cherylyn Chiong, for about two weeks and so far so good. Finally, the teaching demonstration day was coming. It would be tomorrow Tuesday, January 22 2019. Not only me but also most of my friends would conduct our first teaching demonstration tomorrow. I was personally told by Ma’am Chiong about this on Friday and I believed most of my friends were also informed about this, days before the D-day. So we would be having times to prepare. It was on Monday, January 21 2019 in the evening. The room was full of silence, there was no chit chat, no laughter, no kidding as usual. Ragil and Aska were busy with their lesson plan and their preparation to go to the battlefield tomorrow. I found Ragil sharpen his sword (marker) and arranging his war strategy (his teaching procedure) and it was kind of weird seeing him looked so serious like that. I exposed Aska memorizing his magic spell for the tomorrow’s war (power point materials), and I was laid in my bed watching my anime with indomie and Milo on the table. I did know that everyone was busy and it made me feel insecure. I was like “what am I doing here? Why am I doing nothing? And so on. But still, I ended up doing nothing. The thing was, I was not doing anything not because I was too confident but because I already prepared it way before I came to Philippine and I thought being busy in the night before the practice was not good for me. So, that night I took my time to enjoy my anime accompanied by my lovely Indomie featuring my warm and tasty Milo, haha..
Kukuruyuk (let’s imagine the sound of chicken indicated the morning because all we could hear was dogs barking). Finally, the day of teaching demonstration was on the table guys, we wake up early for prayer time. We prepared ourselves especially our appearance. I wore my best suit for sure and re-checked all the stuff I needed for the teaching and everything was completed. I ensured myself that this was going to be a good day “I can do this”. At 7.00 sharp we went to the school, it just took maximum 5 minutes to arrive. There was a flag ceremony when we arrived. The first class would be at 7.30 a.m at St. Augustine but the class which I would teach was class St. Nicholas at 08.30 a.m. So, in the first class was Ma’am Chiong teaching and I tried my best to learn as much as I could so I could apply it in my teaching one hour later. It was 08.30 already, after the first class finished, Ma’am Chiong and I immediately went to the second class which was the St. Nicholas. By the way, for clarification, all the classes I observed and taught were Grade.9 classes. Finally, me standing in front of the door I was like “here we go, let’s do this Fajrin”. I opened the door as Ma’am Chiong entered the class followed by me. Then the students greeted us “Good Morning Ma’am Chiong and sir Al”. Yeah that what happened, most of my students called me Sir Al, because they said it was pretty hard for them to say “Fajrin” so they called me Sir AL instead, and I was very happy of it because it sounded cool to be called as Al, I felt like the real Algazali, hahaha Kidding. Okay, back to the class things. As respond we said “Morning students”. Then, what happened next? Wait!wait!. before I told you about the teaching let me tell what strategy I used to be accepted by the students.
